Notable Pro-Bono or Charitable Cases

In re The Charles M. Bair Family Trust: Represented the Friends of the Bair Museum (all residents of Meagher and Wheatland Counties) on a pro bono case in litigation for several years that included trial and appeal. The Montana Supreme Court ruled that the Board of Advisers for the Charles M. Bair Family Trust breached its duty when it closed the Bair family museum at Martinsdale, Montana at the end of the 2002 season and attempted to move the $6 million art collection to Billings, Montana. As a result of the case, the Montana Supreme Court ordered substantial investments in the Martinsdale Bair home as well as the building of a state-of-the-art new facility for displaying the art and artifacts of the Bair collection that is known world-wide as a leading Western art museum.
