Billings truck accident: Teenage pedestrian died due to injuries

Some of our readers may have heard that a fatal truck accident happened recently in Billings, Montana. The truck reportedly struck a 16-year-old boy, who sustained severe injuries as a result of the truck accident and was taken to the hospital where he later died. The victim was walking with another boy at the time of the accident.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the two boys were heading east when a pickup truck, also eastbound, struck one of the boys. The trooper said that the two boys didn't see the vehicle coming and were wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident. The 16-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Healthcare for treatment. Authorities said that the boy died due to blunt force injuries.

The 71-year-old pickup truck driver has not been officially charged at this time. The police continue to investigate the fatal accident.

The family members of the accident victim may have a hard time accepting that the accident claimed the life of their loved one. Losing a loved one in a tragic car accident is always very difficult and it certainly takes an emotional toll on the family and friends of the loved one. The family of the victim may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver.

If the truck driver is proven negligent in a criminal sense, he may face imprisonment and serious fines. The family can also pursue a claim for compensation in a civil lawsuit in order to cover several different expenses, including funeral expenses. The compensation will help the family to recover financially from the tragic accident that took their loved one.
