Truck strikes disabled car in Montana, killing one

It is commonplace to find large commercial vehicles traveling on major roadways in Montana and other states across the nation. While semi-trucks and tractor-trailers serve a vital role in our society, these large vehicles pose many risks on the road. Even when truckers are trained to travel during the late hours of the night and maneuver their vehicles through any weather or obstacle, this does not always prevent a serious or even fatal truck crash from occurring.

This is what recently occurred during the late night hours on an interstate in southwestern Montana. According to reports, the accident involved a semitrailer truck and a disabled vehicle at the side of the road. Montana Highway Patrol believe the collision occurred around 1 a.m. when the motorist attempted to push his vehicle off the interstate after it ran our of gas.

The truck traveling on the interstate attempted to stop his vehicle and avoid hitting the disabled vehicle, but he was unable to evade the collision. The truck hit the driver's side of the vehicle, taking out the 37-year-old man pushing the car. Emergency crews reported that he died at the scene of the accident. His passenger, who was pushing the vehicle from the other side, was thrown into a ditch at the time of the crash. She suffered minor injuries as a result.

This truck accident is still under investigation, but authorities confirmed that the disabled vehicle had its flashers on at the time of the crash. No citations or charges have been issued at this time.

Following a fatal truck accident like this, family members can experience shock and hardship. While no amount of money can bring back a loved one, a wrongful death lawsuit could help them recover compensation for their damages. This could recovering money for lost wages, medical expenses, and funeral costs, which may provide enough financial relief to allow a surviving family to focus on what really matters: remembering their lost loved one.
