An ongoing investigation is being carried out by Montana Highway Patrol after two people were killed and a child was critically injured in a car accident this month. Reports indicate a woman driving a passenger vehicle was following behind another car and continually pulling out of her lane in an attempt to pass the vehicle in front of her.
Investigators believe that as the woman was pulling out to pass she braked and tried to get back into her lane upon seeing an oncoming car. She was unsuccessful in her attempt to correct her car and was hit by the oncoming passenger vehicle.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while the man driving the second vehicle was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he later died. The woman was traveling with a 3-year-old child in her car, which was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. According to officers at the scene, the child was also hospitalized and currently remains in critical condition. Currently, this accident is still under investigation and officers have not placed blame on either party.
As tragic a situation as this is, the family of the child is going to be financially burdened by both the death of the woman, as well as the injuries to the child. It is possible that they may want to speak with an attorney regarding alleviating some of the financial costs that are most likely going to arise out of this situation.
